Robin’s Real Estate Review – January 2011
2010 marks the lowest number of single family home sales in Calgary since 1995, the worst year in 15 years. Sales in 2010 were down about 16% from 2009. In 2006 buyers had to expect to pay more when purchasing a home, and now sellers have to expect to receive less when selling their home. Since June of 2010, there has been a slight surplus of properties on the market and a shortage of buyers. For the coming months, sellers need to be mindful of these facts if they want to successfully sell their homes.
